Safeguards can be electronic presence sensing controls or can be physical barriers. Physical barriers need to be attached with fasteners requiring tools for removal o

6、r connected to approved interlocks. Openings in barriers need to meet the ANSI standards. These are based on the distance from the hazard。 Two hand controls, two hand trips and electronic presence sensing safeguards need to be set up by a qualified individual to assure they are located a safe distance away from the point of operation. This requires “stop-time measurements” for installation of light curtains, lasers and two hand controls. Two hand trips are based on the cycle time of the machine.
